A wine that was conceived of one evening when one of our suppliers was having dinner with Argentinian legend Susana Balbo and was saying how he didn’t have a 100% Tannat in his range. Susana mentioned she had a few tanks left over from the harvest and offered to bottle them for him. So now we are lucky to have this absolute stunner from Mendoza. It is 100% Tannat, a variety normally found in South-West France, which is full-bodied, rich and incredibly flavoursome. This is a great alternative steak wine, open a bottle of this and you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about. Intense ruby colour and notes of mature fruit with a spicy menthol, chocolate and vanilla. One of our absolute favs! Food pairing – steak is the obvious choice here and its a great pairing but as this wine is vegan why not try it with mushroom risotto.
