DescriptionIn 1864 James Holdaway purchased land on the lower Wairau Plains, which he named Lowlands. The Holdaways have added to this over the years and now own a total of eight vineyards covering the Lower Wairau/Dillons Point sub-region of Marlborough.They aim to work cohesively with natural systems and processes, where possible, and the vineyards are fully accredited with Sustainable Winegrowing NZ. As such, they employ an innovative and biologically regenerative approach to grape growing to actively regenerate soils, the health of the vines and the vineyard ecosystems. This results in optimal flavour production and creates wonderfully balanced wines.
