Pettirosso Sangiovese Fonterenza biodynamic red wine, 100% Sangiovese, pure sour cherry, vibrant red appearance, bags of fruit and fresh acidity, superb summer red wine. The average age of the vines is 35 years but some of the fruit comes from Sangiovese from the old vineyards on Monte Amiata. The new vintage of this little belting biodynamic wine is an absolute winner. In the past, no sulphur was added to the wine and some bottles appeared a little unstable. Although the current bottling is still very low sulphur levels, the wine is pure, round, fresh, balanced and clean as a whistle. Cranberry, cherry and crunchy acid with plenty of body (Sangiovese can sometimes seem a little thin) and intensity to back up the acid. Simply lovely Tuscan wine, very classic but also very contemporary as there is no oak in the mix, (well some time in a very old barrel for half the wine but no oak flavour what so ever). Is Vegan?
