Not only are they great for fireplace use, but ours get used for all sorts of other things from welding to gardening. A very handy pair of gloves indeed. Please note: although these gloves are heat resistant, they are made of leather and therefore not fireproof like a friend of ours thought. She wondered why the fingers had gone all hard and shriveled. she had been happily using them for moving burning logs around in her fireplace.
